Kupid AI review: weekly price and what happens before sign-up

Kupid AI is an AI girlfriend chat with realistic and anime characters, ready-made scenarios, generated photos and videos, voice messages and a “Reels” feed. It is the only tool on this list that charges by the week, and that choice changes how the price reads. Below, what we measured without an account on 16 September 2026, the plans as they appear on the subscription page and what the interface lets you see before asking you to sign up.

What we measured on 16 September 2026

• The chat opens without an account. When you click a character, the page shows the opening scenario, its first message and a photo, without asking for anything.
• The first message requires sign-up. We typed a sentence and pressed Enter: first a window asks for name and gender, then “Register: sign up and get 1 free generation” appears, with Google or email. Without an account, zero messages sent.
• What is “free” is the site’s claim. The home page announces unlimited free chat after sign-up and “Create Your AI Girlfriend for Free”. We did not create an account, so that part is recorded as stated, not measured.
• Prices in dollars, per week. The subscription page shows three periods and a 24-hour countdown that restarts on every visit.

Kupid AI’s real prices

There is only one paid plan, Pro, with 100 coins per week. The site shows the weekly price for every period; the total amount charged does not appear before checkout, so we calculate the equivalent below.

Read per month, Kupid is the most expensive AI girlfriend on the list: the annual plan comes to about US$15 a month, against €3.99 at Candy AI and US$7.58 at SoulGen. In return, the coins arrive every week, 400 a month, four times Candy’s monthly tokens. If you generate a lot of images, the sums can work out; if you only want to chat, it is expensive.

Two notices the site itself gives and that are worth repeating: the charge appears on the statement with no mention of adult content, and the subscription can be cancelled at any time. What the site does not say on the plans page is how many coins each photo, video or voice message costs; that only appears after sign-up.

Checked again on 3 November 2026 on Kupid’s public subscription page, with no account: the same three amounts (12.99, 6.14 and 3.43 per week), in euros from Europe and in dollars elsewhere, with the line “One payment, nothing renews by itself”. Another plans page on the same site already shows an Ultra plan at US$24.99 per week (US$5.75 per week on annual), an annual Pro at US$3.44 per week and a lifetime option; the amount that counts is the one shown at checkout.

How it works

Characters and scenarios

The showcase filters by style (realistic or anime) and by category, and each character has an age, a nationality and a short description. The difference is in the scenario: the conversation starts with an opening text, like a soap opera script, and the character is already in role. There are Instagram and TikTok icons on the cards, which points to character profiles on those networks.

Creating your own AI girlfriend

The creator starts with realistic or anime and continues through appearance and personality steps, with the same guided model as Candy AI. The title promises “for Free”, but creation requires an account, and what the free account delivers after that is not published.

Photos, videos, voice and Reels

On the chat screen there is an image button, a microphone and settings. Video generation, voice messages and images are Pro benefits, and they consume coins. Reels are short videos of the characters, in a vertical feed format, and serve as a showcase for choosing who to chat with. The “Install App” button installs the site as a web app; there is no app in the stores.

Limits that weigh

• No message without sign-up. It is the only tool on the list where “trying it” ends before it starts.
• The weekly price is confusing. Multiply by 4.3 to compare it with the others. The one-week plan at US$12.99 is the most expensive per day in the category.
• The coin cost is not published before you get in. Without it there is no way to know how many photos fit in 100 coins.
• English interface. We saw no Spanish version on the public part of the site.
• Urgency counter permanently on the subscription page.

Who it is for

For anyone who wants role-play with a scenario and a character already in role, likes the feed format for discovering characters and will use images enough to make the most of 400 coins a month. In that case, the annual plan is the only option that makes sense.

Who it is not for

Our verdict

Kupid AI has the best entrance in the category, with a scenario and a character already talking before you type, and the worst door: mandatory sign-up at the first message and a weekly price that hides an annual plan of almost US$180. The calculated score reflects the stated freemium, the four outputs and the measured mandatory sign-up. It works for anyone who already knows they will pay; for everyone else, start with the AI girlfriend ranking.
